A Black trim entryway:
Don't be afraid of dark colors.

Tricorn Black (SW6258) lends itself to sophistication and excitement in any decor. In our entryway, the black trim neatly frames the Rookwood Terra Cotta (SW2803) walls and sets the stage for the Navajo White (SW6126) trim in the window bay and staircase. The window bay walls are finished with Eastlake Gold (SW0009) sponged overtop of the Rookwood Terra Cotta.

You don't have to have white ceilings.

Make a small room look large with a medium shade color like Anjou Pear (SW6381). A dark wall color like Red Bay (SW6321) stopping at a picture rail makes the ceiling lines recede and the room appear to have a higher ceiling.

Pastel shades are not just for walls and trim.

Our tray ceiling bedroom shows how a medium shade wall color can be right at home on the ceiling. Ebbtide (SW6493) works well as a wall color and to highlight the tray ceiling in our master bedroom. The ceiling color is coordinated with Timid Blue (SW6490) from the Ebbtide color strip and Convivial Yellow (SW6393) is used as an accent.
